I went to Carolina Eye Associates for a procedure to correct a complication of a previous cataract surgery where I was experiencing cloudiness caused by what I believe is called called posterior capsule opacification. My local eye care doctor suggest I go here since they were local (instead of Duke where my cataract surgery was performed roughly 8 months ago. The entire visit, with new-patient questionnaire and their examination and treatment, took about an hour, with the procedure itself lasting maybe 3-5 minutes. After the dilation wore off, I noticed an immediate improvement in my condition. The staff and doctors were extremely friendly and gave me the option as to whether I felt my condition was extreme enough to proceed with the procedure. Since I drive a lot a night, I felt it was worth it and proceeded ... and could not be happier with the results.

Dr.Flaherty has cared for my eyes for over 20 years. I absolutely would not see anyone else. Nuff said!!!!

The staff were all quite professional. Dr. Sharpe clearly has excellent skills at removing cataracts and inserting IOC's. The only annoyance was the time it took from entry into the clinic to exit. On the first surgery day I arrived at 9:30 AM and exited at 1:30 PM. On the second surgery day I entered at 8:30 AM and departed at 1:00 PM. Their process is well organized but lacks in efficiency. I contrast that with a friend I took to Highsmith in Fayetteville about 4 years ago where we arrived at 6:30 AM and departed at 8:30 AM. Could be related to the high volume of surgeries they perform. Hard to say but it was an annoyance.

Yearly check up. Dr. Millender takes the necessary time and effort to answer all my questions and put me in my comfort zone about my cataract situation. I appreciate her mannerisms, knowledge and intellect.
