Open Positions

Team Leader & Certified Ophthalmic Assistant / Full-time / Albemarle, NC      Coordinates scheduling for physician and staff on the team. Works closely with the managers and supervisors of the Patient Care Department to resolve patient and scheduling issues for the team. Works under the supervision of the physician as an ophthalmic technician to obtain data from patients and perform duties that assist doctors in the evaluation of patients. High school diploma or GED required, prefer associates degree in related field. Must a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant through JCAHPO.

Ophthalmic Assistant

  • Full-time / Rockingham, NC
  • Under the supervision of a Carolina Eye Associates physician, the ophthalmic assistant obtains data from patients and performs duties that assist doctors in the evaluation of patient eye problems. Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Prefer COA or COT certification or one to three years of medical experience performing related tasks.

    Surgery Scheduler / Full-time / Pinehurst, NC      Schedule surgical procedures to include verification of insurance benefits, coverage, deductibles, out-of-pocket expense, managed care authorizations; counsel patients on insurance information and costs; collect money, issue receipts, post payments, prepare chart for surgery and create surgery schedule. High school diploma or GED required, prefer associate’s degree in related field. One to three years of experience in medical office performing related tasks required.

    Accounting Specialist / Part-time / Pinehurst, NC     Responsible for processing check requests and disbursements, processing bi-weekly payroll and associated reports for all clinic locations. Maintain financial accounting systems including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and financial statements. Prefer an associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent education and experience (three years with accounts payable and two years of payroll experience). Would prefer experience with Proliant payroll system.

    Ophthalmic Photographer / Full-time / Pinehurst, NC     Perform OCT’s, Slit Lamp/External, Fundus photos/IVFA’s ERG/VEP testing as well as B-scans and other special studies as requested. Equipment is state-of-the-art. High school diploma or equivalent education/training. Prefer prior photography experience and COA, COT or CRA certification. If not CRA certified, will be required to obtain certification.

    Patient Services Representative

    • Part-time / Rockingham, NC

    Register patients upon arrival, secure insurance or managed care authorization, and prepare chart.  Post charges, educate & communicate balance to patients, request payment from patients, post payment data, issue receipts, submit daily deposit and balance drawer. Process insurance claims and post payments. Prefer associate’s degree in business, accounting or related field. One to three years experience in medical office or performing related tasks required.
