Open Positions

Ophthalmic Assistant    Under the supervision of a Carolina Eye Associates physician, the ophthalmic assistant obtains data from patients and performs duties that assist doctors in the evaluation of patient eye problems. Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Prefer one to three years of medical experience performing related tasks. Prefer COA or COT certification.

Certified Ophthalmic Technician – Team Leader / Full-time / Greensboro, NC    Coordinates scheduling for physician and staff on the team. Works closely with the managers and supervisors of the patient care department to resolve problems, patient concerns and scheduling issues for the team. Works closely with physician and under the supervision of the physician as an Ophthalmic Technician to obtain data from patients and perform duties that assist doctors in the evaluation of patient eye problems. Must be a Certified Ophthalmic Technician with certification through JCAHPO.

Human Resources Assistant / Part-time / Pinehurst, NC    Assist with the day to day functions of the Human Resources department to include reference checks on applicants, onboarding of new employees, ordering uniform apparel, employee testing and tracking for OSHA, Harassment and Patient Care Training program and provides backup for payroll editing. Prefer one to three years Human Resources experience or a combination of education and experience.

Telephone Operator – Patient Service Representative / Full-time / Greensboro, NC    Manages clinic switchboard, provides routing information and directs calls to appropriate area. Schedules appointments. Register patients upon arrival, secure insurance or managed care authorization and prepare chart. Post charges, educate and communicate balance to patients and request payment from patients, post payment data, issue receipts, submit daily deposit and balance drawer. Process insurance claims and post payments. Requires Associate Degree in related field (i.e. business, accounting, etc.). One-three years of medical office experience performing related tasks required. Switchboard experience preferred.

Business Office Assistant ( Vision Plan Representative) / Part-time / Pinehurst, NC   Confirm referrals and authorizations obtained prior to billing; submit claims through provider portal; review EOBS; post payments, denials and deductibles for various vision plans. Research credit balance accounts and any discrepancies found in posted charges and payments and process accordingly. Assist with research and collection of required documents for resolution of credit balances on patient’s accounts.  High School diploma or equivalent education and training.
