Remember Mom’s Eyesight on Mother’s Day!

May 3rd, 2016 by Carolina Eye Associates

Show Mom how much you care this Mother’s Day with the gift of sight. To help mom preserve her vision be sure she has had a recent medical eye examination.

By age 65, one in three Americans has some form of vision-threatening disease such as glaucoma, cataracts or diabetic retinopathy. Too often many seniors end up with unnecessary vision loss because they did not receive proper eye care. Regular eye exams are important for maintaining good eye health. Talk to mom and other family members about their eye health history. It’s important to know if anyone in your family has been diagnosed with an eye disease or condition since many are hereditary. This information will help to determine the risk for developing eye disease.

If mom or other family members has an eye disease, be sure they are examined early when they are most treatable.
