CAROLINA EYE WELCOMES THREE NEW PROVIDERS

November 1, 2022 – SOUTHERN PINES, NC – Carolina Eye Associates, (CEA) a medical and surgical eye care center headquartered in Southern Pines, NC is pleased to introduce three new providers to the practice: oculoplastic surgeon Anthony Leonard, M.D., Ph.D., cataract and glaucoma specialist Nicholas Grissom, M.D. and Optometrist Pressley Hales, O.D.

Dr. Leonard, M.D., is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in eye and facial plastic surgery. Dr Leonard joins CEA at their Greensboro and Winston Salem, NC locations. Some of Dr. Leonard’s notable educational achievements include The Rosenbaum Resident Research Award at Washington University in St. Louis and recognized as a US Dept. of Education Graduate Assistance in Areas of National Need (GAANN) Teaching Fellow. He received the Transitional Year Resident of the Year award at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, and he is an Honorary Member for the National Academy of Inventors.

Dr. Grissom, M.D., is a board-eligible ophthalmologist specializing in cataracts and glaucoma. Dr. Grissom joins CEA at their Greensboro, Asheboro, and Winston Salem, NC locations. Some of Dr. Grissom’s notable educational achievements include becoming a recipient of a Medical Student Research Program Grant for the Wake Forest School of Medicine. He also received the David Bryan Sloan III MD Award for Excellence in Ophthalmology in May 2017.

Dr. Hales, O.D. joins the CEA at their Southern Pines, Laurinburg, and Sanford, NC locations. Some of Dr. Hales notable achievements include graduating from The Ohio State University with Magna Cum Laude honors, and becoming a member of The Ohio State University chapter Beta Kappa Sigma Honors Society as well as the American Optometric Student Association.
